FixSeal+ Fix190 is an ultimate high strength one-component adhesive sealant based on a Modified Polymer. The product cures into a very strong but flexible rubber, with an excellent adhesion to many marine substrates like timber, fibreglass, carbon fibre, epoxy coated products, glass, ceramic, aluminium, all stainless steels, copper, rough and treated metals and most plastics (consult our technical department).
FixSeal+ Fix190 is suitable for internal and external adhesive sealing operations such as: flying bridges, handrails, windows, hatches, and structural components such as hull to deck, hull to seams, bulkheads, keels, bulbs, and other components requiring strong yet flexible adhesion.
FixSeal+ Fix190, thanks to its thixotropic consistency, resists sag, even when applied in reasonable thick layers, does not shrink or crack.
The product shows an excellent resistance to fresh and salt water and atmospheric agents, climatic changes and UV rays.
FixSeal+ Fix190 is overpaintable with all water based paints and many other 2 pack paint systems it is always advisable to make preliminary paint tests to ensure compatability.
Surface must be clean and dry, free from dust and oil. Use Primer PR10 for preparation work on porous substrates such as timbers. For adhesion of Window Glazing to the vessel use the Blackout Primers PR30 and Activator/Cleaner AC50 on the glass before adhering. FixSeal+ Fix190 is suitable for external window finishing as well as structural adhesion.
Do not apply Acetone to raw fibreglass as a pre cleaner, as it may reactivate the resins making the fibreglass skin texture sticky and non-adhesive. Acetone can be applied to gel coats to clean, as the gel coat will not react to the Acetone.
