FAC240 Fuel Resistant Polysulfide Adhesive Sealant



FAC240 Class B is a two-part polysulfide paste, a USA Certified product with an open time of 30 minutes. FAC240 is a quick turn around rapid cure adhesive sealant for use in marine, automotive and aircraft fuel tanks. The mixture has a thixotropic non-sag consistency and can be readily applied with a spatula or extrusion gun to form an adhesive seal. It will cure to a 100% fuel resistant rubber at temperatures above 5oC and exhibits excellent tooling properties with very low shrinkage.


FAC240 Class B meets the following USA specification and every batch produced is tested and certified before release to the applicator.

Quick cure fuel tank adhesive sealant paste, used for sealing and adhering components used in the construction of internal fuel tanks and its fixtures.


 Surface must be clean and dry, free from dust and oil.  For best results clean non-porous substrates such as gel coats, aluminium, steel, plastics with acetone, an appropriate cleaner. Use lint free cloth that is free of soap, oil or other contaminants. Always pour solvent on the cloth to avoid contaminating the solvent supply.

Clean one small area at a time, quickly wiping it dry before the solvent evaporates to prevent redeposition of oil, wax or other contaminants. Turn the solvent wet used cloth over to the dry side and re-apply the solvent to clean cloth before cleaning the next stage, repeat as required to create a clean dry surface.






  1. Before mixing, thoroughly stir the black coloured accelerator (in its container) to an even consistency.
  2. To mix, add one part of accelerator (by weight) to ten parts of the white base compound. If using the kit, the proper proportion of accelerator to base compound is already measured. Be sure the entire accelerator is added to the base compound.
  3. Stir the accelerator into the base compound and mix thoroughly until uniform grey colour is achieved. While stirring, blend in any unmixed based compound remaining on the bottom and sides of the container or on the mixing paddle itself.  We recommend mixing by hand, but a low speed mechanical mixer can be used. High-speed mixers create heat that shortens application life. 

Note: For optimal results, it is important to use the right proportions and mix properly.  Exercise good work practise quality control procedures.
